What is the salary of an average cardiologist

Most cardiologists in the United States make somewhere between about $200,000 per year to about $600,000 per year. That sounds like a lot, & it is, but to put it in perspective, the average cardiologist *starts* his or her career (i.e. finishes training) at about the age of thirty-two, after years & years of training & education, & has about $250,000 in debt. Cardiologists work as hard or harder than most physicians, which means they routinely work 70-80 hours a week, at least one full weekend a month, & get woken up at 2 AM a couple of times a week. That is leaving aside the stress of having someone is life in ur hands as well as the possibility of being sued for malpractice, & the exposure to radiation & bloodborne infection. Remember, also, that it is not like they were choosing between being a cardiologist or working at Burger King - most people who do as well in school as it takes to go to medical school could choose instead to go to law school or be an investment banker & make a *lot* more money, at least in the short term.
